A strong cocktail made with whisky, smoothed out with a few dashes of bitters and a twist of orange. An easy cocktail recipe you will be able to mix up in less than 10 minutes.


10 ml
Gomme Syrup
6 dashes
Angostura Bitters
50 ml
Chivas Regal 12 Year Old Whisky


  1. Fill your mixing glass with ice.
  2. Stir for 25 to 30 seconds.
  3. Add the gomme syrup and bitters.
  4. Add 25ml of whisky.
  5. Stir again.
  6. Add the remaining 25ml of whisky.
  7. Stir one more time.
  8. Strain into a rocks glass.
  9. Finish with a large orange twist.


How to make super-fast gomme syrup

Add equal parts water and sugar to a plastic container with a lid. Seal it up tight. Shake hard until all the sugar has dissolved.

Try jam as a flavouring

You don’t need to use syrups to add flavour or sweetness, just shake up a teaspoon of jam with your other cocktail ingredients. Remember, cherry jam and whisky are soulmates!


Think smart to impress with your garnish

Garnish your Old Fashioned with some maraschino cherries, a cinnamon stick or a sprig of rosemary.
